The alternate-reality twist on Jiji's home is so unsettling and creative, and that creepy serpent god sacrifice really ramps up the dread. I tore through this volume in one sitting, the art during the Kito clan scenes is some of the best in the series so far.
The pacing in this volume is relentless, and the serpent god showdown in that twisted Jiji house had me turning pages way past my bedtime. That child sacrifice character adds a layer of dread that really pays off by the end.
The alternate-reality twist with the serpent god really amps up the tension, and the art in those dark, distorted hallways of Jiji's home is some of the best in the series so far. The child sacrifice adds a heartbreaking layer to the chaos, making it hard to put down once you start.
