Compare the Frieren Nendoroid Surprise and Animal Party Vinyl Plush blind boxes on size, price, and surprise factor to pick the right Frieren merch for you.
Quick answer
Choose the Frieren Nendoroid Surprise Blind Box if you want a small, affordable chibi figure with the classic Nendoroid look; pick the Animal Party Vinyl Plush Blind Box if you prefer a larger, soft plush with animal costumes and a chance at a secret edition.
Size and material: figure vs. plush
The Nendoroid Surprise contains a mini Nendoroid figure in the signature chibi style, while the Animal Party box holds a vinyl plush standing about 6 inches tall. That size difference affects where each one fits: the plush works as a shelf or desk accent, whereas the mini figure suits tighter display spaces or small collector cases.
Price and value per box
At catalog prices, the Nendoroid Surprise is the lower-cost option, making it easier to buy multiple boxes for a chance at different characters. The Animal Party plush costs more per box, but you get a larger item with soft construction and detailed animal-themed costumes. Neither box guarantees a specific character, so budget accordingly if you are chasing a favorite.
Surprise factor and collectibility
Both are blind boxes, so the character inside is a surprise. The Nendoroid Surprise focuses on collecting all characters to complete your Frieren party, while the Animal Party series includes a chance for a secret edition, adding an extra layer of rarity. If you enjoy the thrill of a possible secret, the plush box offers that; if you prefer a straightforward set to complete, the Nendoroid line is more predictable in scope.
Key trade-offs
- Size vs. space: The Animal Party plush is about 6 inches tall and soft, so it needs more room but stands out on a shelf; the Nendoroid Surprise is mini and compact, fitting into small gaps or display cases. Measure your display area before choosing.
- Price vs. quantity: The Nendoroid Surprise is cheaper per box, so you can buy more for the same budget; the Animal Party plush costs more but delivers a larger, plush item. Set a budget per box and decide whether you want volume or a single larger piece.
- Secret edition vs. set completion: The Animal Party series has a chance for a secret edition, adding rarity; the Nendoroid Surprise focuses on collecting all characters to complete the party, with no secret mentioned. If you chase rare variants, lean toward the plush; if you want a defined set, lean toward the Nendoroid.
