Compare the Tengen Uzui and Kyojuro Rengoku 1/8 scale figures on pose, display impact, and price to decide which Demon Slayer figure fits your shelf.
Quick Answer
Choose the Kyojuro Rengoku 1/8 scale figure if you want a dramatic flame effect and a centerpiece display; choose the Tengen Uzui 1/8 scale figure if you prefer a dynamic dual-sword pose with detailed chains and a lower price.
Pose and effect: flame vs. flash
The Rengoku figure recreates his Flame Breathing with clear materials and painstaking flame coloring, so the visual weight comes from the blazing effect around him. That makes it a strong focal point, but the effect also adds height and visual noise that can overwhelm a crowded shelf.
The Uzui figure captures a battle stance from the Entertainment District arc, with dual Nichirin swords, detailed blades, guards, and connecting chains. The chains and swords create a wider, more open silhouette that reads well from multiple angles, though the chains may need careful positioning to avoid tangling with nearby figures.
Display footprint and shelf planning
Both are 1/8 scale, but their display needs differ. Rengoku’s flame effect typically demands more vertical clearance and a spot where the translucent parts can catch light without washing out. Uzui’s dynamic stance and chain details often need more horizontal room and a stable base to keep the pose balanced.
If your shelf is shallow or enclosed, measure the depth and height before buying. Neither product page lists exact dimensions, so treat the 1/8 scale as a general size guide and plan extra space for effects and accessories.
Price and value trade-off
At catalog prices, the Rengoku figure is listed at USD 247.99 (compared to USD 399.99), while the Uzui figure is USD 147.19 (compared to USD 229.99). The Rengoku figure costs more, which may reflect its elaborate flame effect; the Uzui figure offers a lower entry point with detailed sword and chain work.
If budget is tight but you still want a premium 1/8 scale piece, Uzui is the more affordable choice. If you are building a display around Rengoku or the Mugen Train arc, the higher price may be justified by the flame effect’s centerpiece presence.
Decision Rules: Which Figure Fits Your Collection
- If you want a single centerpiece: Pick the Rengoku figure when your display has open space and you want the flame effect to anchor the shelf. Its clear materials and flame coloring are designed to draw the eye. Check that your shelf has enough height for the flame effect before ordering.
- If you prefer a dynamic action pose: Choose the Uzui figure if you like dual-sword stances and detailed chains. The Entertainment District arc pose gives the figure a sense of motion that stands out from static poses. Plan for extra width to accommodate the swords and chains.
- If budget is the deciding factor: The Uzui figure is listed at a lower catalog price than the Rengoku figure. If you want a premium 1/8 scale Demon Slayer figure without stretching your budget, Uzui is the practical pick. Compare the catalog comparison prices to see the relative discount, but base your decision on the actual price you pay.
- If you are building a themed display: Match the figure to your existing collection: Rengoku pairs naturally with Mugen Train arc pieces, while Uzui fits an Entertainment District or Hashira lineup. Consider which arc or character group you want to highlight before buying.
