Quick answer
If you're new to manga and want a self-contained arc, start with Naruto Volume 1. If you're already following Jujutsu Kaisen and need the next story beat, pick up Volume 16.
Story entry point matters
Naruto Volume 1 is the beginning of a long-running shonen epic. It introduces Naruto Uzumaki, his teammates, and the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside him. You can start here with zero prior knowledge.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 16 drops you into the middle of the Shibuya Incident arc. It assumes you know the characters and the world. New readers will find it confusing without context.
Volume depth and pacing
Naruto Volume 1 sets up the entire series with character introductions, training, and early missions. It's a slow burn that builds the foundation.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 16 is packed with high-stakes action and reveals. The story moves fast, with major plot twists involving Geto, Choso, and the imprisoned Gojo.
Trade-offs at a glance

Product facts
